This summer we welcomed Alex Archuleta as our new CSPM museum technician. A native of Colorado Springs, Alex has a B.A. in Political Science from University of Colorado Boulder, and an M.A. in History from UCCS. An active member of the community, Alex serves on the executive board at the Chinook Center for Research and Social Change. Additionally, he teaches history and humanities at UCCS with a focus on U.S. Latino history specializing in the Chicano movement in Colorado. Alex has deep roots in the San Luis Valley where he helps preserve Hispano heritage in the region.
In his position as museum technician, Alex supports the collections and exhibits work of the museum. This includes assisting with exhibit installation and de-installation, performing environmental monitoring, and supporting collections care activities. Additionally, Alex helps the CSPM maintain our Public Art Collection by condition reporting, cleaning, and conducting light maintenance on public art when necessary.
